Punto Banco Punto Banco

Min Bet £5. Max Bet £5,000.

Punto Banco is a simple contest between two sides - Punto (Player) and Banco (Bank). It is dealt by either a Player or by the Dealer, drawing the cards from a shoe.

The cards are given point values as follows: Ace =1, 2-9=card value, 10 and face cards=0.  The Dealer will call the card totals (e.g. ‘five to the Player, three to the Banker’) and the nearest to 9 will be declared the winning hand.

The score of the hand is based on the total value of the cards. If the two cards were an 8 and 7 for example, then this gives a total of 15 but the 10 part of it is ignored giving a score of 5. The scores will always range from 0 to 9 and you cannot bust.

Winning bets on the Banker pay 19 to 20 (or even money less a 5% commission), winning bets on the Player pay 1 to 1, winning bets on any tie pay 9 to 1. On the individual egalites (ties) these vary. In the event of an egalite, Banker and Player bets are a stand-off.

Tips & Advice

  • You do not have to play any other wagers to have a bet on ‘Any’ egalite (this being that both hands will have the same total).
  • You can bet on one or more of the individual egalites but you must have either a Bank, Player or Any egalite bet as well.
  • When the cards are being drawn, please wait for the Dealer to indicate to you if additional cards are required.
  • The black or red cutting card signifies the end of the shoe.
